Search for numismatic items

Purpose of the Service

This website provides a searchable index of products from publicly available numismatic web shops. Its purpose is to allow collectors and interested parties to find coins, banknotes and other numismatic products from various merchants on a single platform.

The system builds the index based on data publicly published by web shops. The index does not replace web shops: detailed information about products, purchases and all transactions take place exclusively on the website of the respective web shop.

The product data displayed on the website is derived from information publicly published by web shops and their structured data. The operator of each web shop is responsible in all cases for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness and correctness of the data.

Although the system continuously strives to keep the index up to date, it is possible that a product's price, availability or other data may change in the meantime. When making a purchase decision, the information displayed on the official product page of the web shop should always be considered authoritative.

If a web shop provides incorrect or incomplete structured data, this may affect the accuracy of the information displayed on the website.

Data Processing

The website places special emphasis on protecting user data.

The system only indexes publicly available product data in order to make searching faster and more efficient.

The system does not use the collected data for market research, statistical or business analysis, price monitoring, price comparison analysis, profiling or other data mining purposes. The stored information serves exclusively the functioning of the searchable product index.

The website is not a web shop, does not mediate sales, does not participate in buying and selling, and does not provide payment or ordering services. All purchases take place directly on the platform of the respective web shop.

Indexing Conditions

A web shop can only be included in the index if it properly implements Schema.org structured data.

Product pages must contain a valid (valid) Schema.org Product markup in which the following fields are mandatory:

During indexing, we check the validity of the structured data. Web shops that do not have the above fields or whose Schema.org markup is incorrect are not added to the database.

The web shop cannot block access to the indexing robot (HarvesterBot). The robot identified by the User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; HarvesterBot/1.0) must have access to product pages and cannot be blocked by robots.txt rules, firewalls or other access controls.

For faster and more reliable mapping, it is recommended that the web shop:

While these are not mandatory conditions for inclusion in the index, they greatly facilitate the automatic processing and maintenance of product pages.

HarvesterBot only maps publicly accessible pages for the purpose of indexing products. It does not make purchases, does not log into user accounts, does not fill in or submit forms, and does not perform actions that would modify the contents or data of the web shop.

During mapping, it only processes publicly accessible product pages and technical information that aids indexing (such as structured data and sitemaps). The robot's operation is read-only.

Inclusion and Removal from the Database

Inclusion in the Database

If you wish your web shop to be included in the NumisHub database, you can submit your registration request on the following page:

https://numishub.net/v/

After registration, the system checks whether the web shop meets the indexing conditions. Upon successful verification, HarvesterBot will begin mapping the web shop and products will gradually appear in the database.

Removal from the Database

If you do not want your web shop to appear in the database, simply block access to the HarvesterBot search robot in your robots.txt file.

User-agent: HarvesterBot
Disallow: /

Upon detection of the block, the system will stop mapping the web shop and permanently delete all previously stored data, including:

Deleted data cannot be recovered. If the web shop later re-enables access for HarvesterBot, the indexing process will start from the beginning again.

HarvesterBot Operation

Sitemap Verification

It checks the sitemap files belonging to the web shop daily. If new products appear, a maximum of 200 products from them are processed and indexed daily.

New Products Page Monitoring

It checks the web shop's New Products page approximately every 4 hours. Products appearing here that have not been known before are automatically processed.

Image Processing

The robot downloads the images belonging to the product and then resizes them to fit into a 260 × 260 pixel frame while maintaining the original aspect ratio. The resized images are stored in WebP format.

Stored Data

The system only stores data necessary for the index to function:

The system does not store the full content of the product page, its description or other data not necessary for the index to function.

Re-verification of Existing Products

HarvesterBot daily re-verifies approximately 1% of already known products in order to keep the index up to date.

If during verification:

then the product is removed from the index. In doing so, all associated data is deleted, including stored product data and resized images.
